This past Saturday i09, the spectacular website of “science, science fiction, and the future,” highlighted MSTF in their weekly webcomic feature. I received a surge of traffic over the weekend, so welcome to the new readers, visitors, and Facebook fans that have made their way to my corner of the universe! I am looking forward to sharing the comic with you as it rolls forward. (If you need a quick catch-up of the story so far but don’t want to wade through the website, the first volume and most recently completed chapters are available as PDFs in my store.)
The feature was accompanied by a great, flattering write-up by Lauren Davis. Here’s a snippet:
“Jones is a children’s book illustrator (be sure to check out her adorable illustrations for MONSTERS Vs. KITTENS), and My Sister, the Freak has a definite children’s book quality in its artwork. It’s an excellent match for the warm quality of the comic. As filled as the comic is with tentacle monsters and goofy alien critters, at its heart it’s about two girls who love each other very much, even if they don’t always get along. It’s clear that Allison and Mary will have to work together as a team if they hope to keep their corner of the world safe, even if each one kind of thinks the other is a freak.”
