In Comics Buyers Guide Issue #1684, there is a nice little write-up about My Sister the Freak. Here’s a snippet:
It’s hard to believe that this book is self-published, given the high quality of the story, the art, and the production…
There are cute and funny moments, some of which are blatant, some of which are subtle. Jones… provides top-notch art… It would behoove another “all-ages” publisher to pick it up for wider distribution.”
Thanks Kurt for the kind words! If you are near a comics shop, please seek the issue out and grab a copy.
There was also a nice mention recently at GeeksUnleashed.me. The post is actually about ALL of the Spacedock 7 comics (which you should be checking out anyway). It provides a nice overview of each comic (though as a warning to those who haven’t read MSTF yet, it’s a bit spoilery). Stephen writes this about MSTF:
The interplay between the two sisters is well-written and believable, and the complexity of their relationship… is slowly revealed and utterly compelling. It is clear that, like many family relationships, a bond exists between the two sisters that goes beyond familial love and it is this element of the characterisation which makes it easy for the reader to identify with the characters and the comic a joy to read.
Thank you Stephen! Check out the full article here.
And as a sidenote, I’ve started a new page to collect some of these awesome reviews. You can view it at mysisterthefreak.com/press.
The Deadline Monster strikes again!
Apologies, but MSTF will be on break this week. With several freelance deadlines and a conference coming up at the end of the week, I’m just spread too thin. Work must get done. Blech.
The good news is, after this week I am dedicating some time to getting my buffer of pages up again so I don’t have so many delays.
As always, please use the break time to catch up on missed pages, comment, or share the comic. Also check out some of my buddy webcomickers in the links if you need to fill the comic void in my absence.
Thanks for the support!
